IELTS Computer ("we", "our", or "us") operates the IELTS Computer application and the website https://ieltscomputer.com (collectively, the "Service"). This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the Service, you agree to these practices.

1. Data Minimization Principle

IELTS Computer is designed with data minimization as a core principle. We collect only the minimum information required to operate the application and provide access to its features.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Third-Party Social Logins (Apple and Google)

When you choose to authenticate using third-party services like Sign in with Apple or Google Login, we may receive certain information. This includes:

  • A unique user identifier generated by Apple or Google.
  • Your email address (if you choose to share it or if provided by the platform).
  • Your name (when you choose to sign in via your Google or Apple account).

We collect this information to create your account, manage your study progress, and facilitate app access. We do not receive your Apple ID or Google passwords, or other unrelated account details. This data is processed in accordance with the policies of Google and Apple.

It is best practice to review how these companies handle your data by visiting their respective privacy policies:

  • Google Privacy Policy
  • Apple Privacy Policy
2.2 Subscription Information

To manage access to paid features, we store limited data:

  • Subscription status (active, expired, canceled)
  • Subscription type (e.g., monthly, yearly)
2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect or store: Phone numbers, physical addresses, precise location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or messages.

3. How We Use Information

  • To authenticate users and provide access to features.
  • To enable and verify subscription-based features.
  • To maintain application stability and detect unauthorized access.

We do not use personal data for advertising, behavioral tracking, or data resale.

4. Payments and Billing

4.1 Apple In-App Purchases

Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store are processed exclusively by Apple. IELTS Computer does not process these payments directly or store payment card/billing information for Apple purchases.

4.2 External Payment Processing (Stripe)

When you purchase a subscription through our app using an external payment link, your payment is processed by Stripe, Inc., a third-party payment processor. IELTS Computer does not directly handle, process, or store your payment card information for Stripe purchases.

What Payment Data Stripe Collects

When you make a payment through Stripe, the following personal data is collected and processed:

  • Payment information: Credit/debit card number, expiration date, CVV, billing address
  • Transaction data: Purchase amount, date and time of transaction, transaction status
  • Contact information: Email address (for receipts and payment confirmations)
  • Device and technical data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers
  • Behavioral data: Typing patterns, mouse movements, and interaction data on payment forms (used for fraud detection via Stripe Radar)
Important: Your payment card details are transmitted directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers or accessible to IELTS Computer. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified, the highest level of payment security certification.

How Stripe Uses Your Data

Stripe uses the personal data it collects to:

  • Process your payment transaction and complete your subscription purchase
  • Prevent fraud and detect suspicious activity through automated risk analysis
  • Verify your identity and authenticate transactions
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations (tax, anti-money laundering, financial regulations)
  • Send you payment receipts and transaction notifications
  • Improve payment processing services and user experience
  • Analyze payment performance and authorization rates (in aggregated, de-identified form)

Data Sharing by Stripe

Stripe may share your personal data with:

  • IELTS Computer (us): Transaction status, subscription details, and payment metadata (excluding full card details)
  • Financial institutions: Your bank or card issuer to process payments and verify transactions
  • Service providers: Third-party services that support Stripe's payment infrastructure, fraud detection, and compliance functions
  • Legal authorities: When required by law, court order, or regulatory request

International Data Transfers

Stripe processes payment data in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your payment information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. Stripe relies on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework to ensure adequate protection for international data transfers in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

Data Retention

Stripe retains payment transaction data for as long as necessary to:

  • Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations (typically 7-10 years)
  • Resolve disputes and enforce agreements
  • Prevent fraud and maintain security
  • Meet contractual obligations with financial partners and payment networks

We (IELTS Computer) retain subscription status information and transaction metadata (excluding payment card details) for as long as your account is active and for legal compliance purposes thereafter.

Payment Security and PCI Compliance

We use Stripe's certified payment infrastructure to ensure the highest level of payment security:

  • All payment pages use HTTPS encryption and secure connections
  • We implement Stripe.js or Stripe Elements, ensuring card numbers never touch our servers
  • Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified, the most stringent level of payment security certification
Third-Party Payment Processor Notice:
We use Stripe for payments, analytics, and other business services. Stripe collects personal data including via cookies and similar technologies. The personal data Stripe collects includes transactional data and identifying information about devices that connect to its services. Stripe uses this information to operate and improve the services it provides to us, including for fraud prevention and detection, authentication, analytics related to the performance of its services, and to enhance and customize the user experience.
