Timing and marking
The recording runs for about 30 minutes and plays once. You type while it is still playing. At the end of the computer-delivered test you get two minutes to check what you wrote, not the ten minutes the paper test gives you for copying answers.
There are 40 questions, one mark each, so your raw score is out of 40. The results screen shows which questions you got right, grouped by question type, so you can see where the marks went.
What is different on a computer
You type your answers into boxes while the audio plays, so spelling is on you — there is no spell-check. The volume control and the question navigator are on screen.
